Privacy policy

The Hall of Pickleball — Privacy Policy

Drafted with the assistance of counsel. Read at your leisure.

The short of it: we do not sell what is yours. We collect what we need to ship a shirt to
your door, and not a particle more. If you would like out, or you would like to know what we
have on file, write us. We will see to it.

The long of it follows.

Your Information, Your Rules

When you shop at the Hall of Pickleball, we collect certain pieces of information —
including your name, email, shipping address, and payment details. We use
this to:

Ship your order

Confirm your payment

Assist if there is a return, an exchange, or some other matter that requires our
attention

Improve our site and services

Occasionally say hello (but only if you have opted in)

We will never sell your information. Many companies do. We will not.

What We Collect (And Why)

Order Information: Name, address, email, payment method, and what you
bought. The standard set.

Device Information: Browser type, IP address, and cookies. This helps the
site load smoothly and remain secure.

Marketing Information (optional): If you have opted in, we may email you
from time to time with product drops, blog updates, or general pickleball news. You may
unsubscribe at any time.

Cookies

Yes, we use cookies. Not the kind that follows you around the internet, and not the kind
your grandmother bakes. Only enough to remember what is in your cart, keep you signed
in, and help the site load more quickly.

You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but the site may not behave the same way.
The choice is yours.

Sharing

We only share your data with a small number of trusted tools and services
that help us run the Hall:

Shopify (our store platform)

Printful, Printify, or other print-on-demand partners

Shipping providers (USPS, UPS, DHL)

Payment processors (Shopify Payments, PayPal)

Google Analytics (so that we may know what is working)

They receive only the information they need to perform their function. No
more than that.

GDPR, CCPA, and the Like

If you reside in California, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or any other
jurisdiction with a comprehensive privacy statute on the books, here is what you may do:

You may ask us what information we have about you.

You may ask us to update it, delete it, or send it to you.

You may ask us to stop using it altogether.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection
authority in your jurisdiction.

By way of illustration: two summers ago, a customer sent us a deletion request on a
Tuesday. Properly written, properly signed — the whole apparatus. We deleted what we had. On
Friday afternoon she called to ask where her order was. We had shipped the shirt, you see, but
we no longer had the address on file, having just deleted it. UPS had it. UPS, in due course,
told her where it was. The package arrived. The principle is real: the right to delete is
yours. The practical advice is to consider the timing relative to any open order.

To exercise any of these rights, write to admin@HallofPickleball.org. We
do respond.

Data Retention

We retain your order information for our records unless and until you ask us to
delete it. We hold onto it because the IRS prefers records to be kept, and because if
you call us six months from now about a return, it would not do for us to say, "Who?"

Kids Under 13

This shop is not directed at children under 13. If we accidentally collect
information from a minor, we will delete it promptly upon notice. The
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act takes the matter seriously, and so do we.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, generally to keep pace with new laws
or improved practices. The most current version always lives on this page. If a
change is material, we will make it conspicuous.
